Community
At Kampung Siglap, we are a community space and we endeavor to be a community space where residents in the Frankel Estate can come enjoy our KS facilities, build relationships with others in the community, and contribute to society through volunteerism.
Kopi Corner
Kopi Corner originated as part of the Specialised Volunteer Centre's outreach programme and has since undergone a remarkable transformation. It now serves as a supportive network where seniors gather to enjoy activities such as singing, playing rummy-o, exercising, and building new friendships over coffee. Throughout the years, we've witnessed the formation of numerous enduring friendships among participants.
The initiative has successfully created a welcoming and inclusive environment, fostering not only entertainment but also promoting the physical and mental well-being of seniors. The diverse range of activities offered at Kopi Corner goes beyond the initial outreach goals, evolving into a thriving community space.

Qigong by HPB
In collaboration with the Health Promotion Board, we have introduced a revitalizing Qigong program at Frankel Estate to encourage seniors to stay active and prioritize their well-being. This initiative has gained significant popularity among the elderly residents, offering them a holistic approach to health and fitness.
Every week, seniors gather for invigorating Qigong sessions that incorporate gentle movements, controlled breathing, and meditation. The collaboration ensures that these sessions align with evidence-based health practices, enhancing their effectiveness and promoting overall wellness.
The choice of Qigong is particularly beneficial for seniors due to its gentle nature, making it accessible for individuals of varying fitness levels. The slow and flowing movements help improve flexibility, balance, and joint health, addressing common concerns associated with aging.

Community Garden
Our community takes pride in our flourishing community garden, a vibrant oasis fully managed by dedicated volunteers. This green haven serves a dual purpose, not only as a source of fresh produce but also as a symbol of shared responsibility and communal harmony.
Our team of volunteers tends to the garden with passion and care, cultivating a diverse array of vegetables and herbs. The fruits of their labour go beyond the boundaries of the garden, reaching and benefiting various facets of our community.
The harvested produce plays a significant role in blessing retreat participants who seek solace and rejuvenation within our retreat center. Whether it's a basket of freshly picked vegetables or a bundle of aromatic herbs, the garden's bounty enhances the holistic experience of those seeking spiritual and mental well-being during their retreat.

Sing for Joy
The Busker Boys playing oldies adds a nostalgic charm to our community initiatives. Their performances often feature classic hits that resonate with audiences of all ages, fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Additionally, they usually have an open mic segment, inviting community members to join in and showcase their own talents. By providing a space where residents can come together, enjoy nostalgic music, and even participate in performances, this initiative helps strengthen social ties and create a sense of belonging. It’s more than just entertainment; it’s a celebration of community spirit, where everyone has a chance to share their voice and connect with one another.
